As a child I have always tried to and wanted to help anyone I knew who was ill or injured. The selection of who I would try to help later developed into anybody at all. Seeing anyone suffering triggered my empathic sensitivity where I always wished I could wave some ‘magic wand’ to take away the suffering.
In search of my ‘magic wand’ I went into Med School where I found myself telling many a patients as an intern “sorry we have done all we possibly could do for you, but we have to unfortunately tell you there is nothing more we can medically do for you”. After having to utter this sentence time and time again my motivation and belief in allopathic (regular/western) medicine had more or less dissipated.
The search for my ‘magic wand’ began again starting with educating myself in Chinese and Japanese Medicine, where I followed several courses and got familiar with the concepts and the benefits. I still felt incomplete I felt that there were too many unanswered questions for me as a physician.
During my time studying Chinese and Japanese medicine I also looked into the affairs of mind. Human psychology; what intrigued me most was why we do the things we do and can we anticipate someone’s behavior and act accordingly to avoid interactions that involve hostility or un necessary conflict. This is where the world of body language and NLP opened their doors to me.
Then next and thankfully the final stop led me to the closest thing to my ‘magic wand’ and that was the world of Ayurveda, Unani and Tibb medicine. Health in the holistic sense involves mind, body and soul. I found that Ayurveda, Unani and Tibb medicine covered all three facets in incredible detail. As far as I am concerned I feel that it was with this realization that I finally came to the turning point in my life where I could finally follow the calling that until now lay dormant in my core. I finally managed to express my life long desire to help people to if not cure than at least ease their suffering.
I am studying and practicing under the very knowledgeable Physician of Ayurveda and Unani medicine VaidyaRaja Naveen Gupta. VaidyaRaja Naveen Gupta is a mentor come friend who helped open my eyes to the world of natural medicine and its potential.
I have also followed many courses nationally and internationally learning under the guidance of those who after very meticulous research I have found to be experts and devotees to their respected professions. These c
