Muhammad Usman Akram
Trento, Italy
I have done my MS in Computer Sciences with specialization in Data Management and Information Processing. My thesis work was focused on on Time series analysis.
I have been a Software Engineer at Convo, developing REST web services. I also have experience with building ETL framework while wrking as a Software Engineer at Elixir Technologies, which has be successfully deployed at various banks. After that had my 1st year of MS studies at LUMS, where I was particularly interested in mobile and cloud computing platforms, so I worked on various projects including applications for iOS with Google App Engine as back-end and also worked as Researcher for in pervasive computing to design autonomic resource allocation solution for pervasive environment. After, I moved to Italy on Erasmus Mundus program, where I am continuously working on large scale information process optimization and analytic problems. At University of Trento, I worked at dbTrento (Data Management Research group), for massive data analytics and developed correlation aware time series classification methods. While, working at Convo, as back-end developer (PHP and Java along with Oracle on AWS), my responsibilities were mostly server side development and also optimizations, performance tuning (including, but not limited to query/schema optimizations and cache management). This position has provided me with a unique experience of a platform which is growing fast and shows interesting challenges each day.
