Uwakmfon Nsa is the Founder and Executive Director of Flourish Her Africa, a social enterprise that empowers women and young people with digital and entrepreneurial skills to foster financial independence and reduce gender-based violence. She sits on the Board of Flourish Her Africa, providing strategic direction for women’s economic empowerment initiatives across Nigeria. She is a Chevening alumna and holds an MA in Global Social Development from the University of East Anglia (UEA), United Kingdom. During her time at UEA, Uwakmfon served as a Student Ambassador, where she mentored over 300 students locally and internationally, promoting the university’s image and values. She also served as an International Student Caller, providing mentorship and guidance to incoming Nigerian students preparing to study at UEA and in the UK. A recipient of the UEA Gold Award, she currently serves as a UEA Award Mentor, supporting other students on their journey to achieving the award.

Uwakmfon co-developed a course titled “The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), Sustainable Development and the Law,” offered by Lucy Cavendish College and Hughes Hall at the University of Cambridge. With over 9 years of experience in the development sector, Uwakmfon has designed and managed programs advancing women’s rights, youth empowerment, and community development. Her professional journey includes roles as Gender-Based Violence Case Manager at Neighbourhood Care-Well Foundation, Gender Programme Assistant at Youngstars Development Initiative for the Ford Foundation–funded Female and More Project, and Programs Manager at Donors for Africa and the Pan African Women Empowerment Network. A passionate advocate for social impact and leadership, she was the 2022 Vice Curator of the Global Shapers Calabar Hub and is an Associate Member of the Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ). Uwakmfon is also a fellow of several prestigious programs, including the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), the Changemakers Fellowship, the Innocent Chukwuma Social Impact Fellowship, and the GeneralKopho Leadership Program. Additionally, she serves as a Sustainability Leader with United People Global, Switzerland.

Her leadership and innovation have earned her multiple accolades, including the NYSC Honor’s Award, Magnanimous Award, 30 Under 30 SDGs Award, UEA Gold Award, and the Chevening Volunteering Award. She is also the author of Balancing Love and Purpose. Uwakmfon is deeply committed to building resilient communities by equipping women and youth with the skills, resources, and confidence to become changemakers and break the cycles of poverty and inequality.
