UWW SPILL

SPILL (Supporting Peers In Laid-back Listening) is an anonymous peer-to-peer support system online. Basically, students can vent confidentially about whatever problems they're going through (roommate problems, academic stress, break ups, trouble making friends, drinking/drug problems, body image issues, worries about the future, etc.), and get non-judgmental feedback from 6-8 other students who have been through that problem before. These anonymous “Student Supporters” (volunteer responders) will then provide feedback, empathy, and support for the problem within 24 hours. As a safe and regulated outlet for stressors at any hour of the day, SPILL has exploded onto college campuses. Its mission is to help reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation by providing a laidback, supportive atmosphere where students can vent without feeling judged. As an organization made of and for college students, SPILL aims to help individuals understand that they are not alone in their problems—They just haven’t been connected yet.
