Valarie Glass

I grew up on the south side of Chicago, Il. I graduated from Hirsch Metropolitan High School in 2011. I graduates at the top of my class. I now attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I am studying elementary education and english.

In 2011 I was chosen to be a Golden Apple Scholar. I was so excited when I found out I won because i worked really hard on it. This program is giving me the skills that I need to become a better teacher. I have gotten a lot of experience that I would never have recieved in my university.

I have not always wanted to become a teacher. I first ti become a lawyer then I fell in love with tutoring my little sister and cousins. I always use to want to play school and want to be the teacher. I then realized that I had to the passion to teach others.

Besides teaching, I am very passionate about lot of other things. I love to dance and listen to music. I love to hang out with my friends and family.
