Sir John Harrington in 1589 who invented the device closest to our known toilet, although there are traces of artifacts to dispose of the feces from ancient Rome
In 1589, Sir John Harrington of England, invented the toilet with water tank, but it was long before winning, and continued to use bedpans and toilets with holes into a well or pit for many years.

The invention of the toilet, water-closet or water-clo dates from 1589 and is the work of the Englishman John Harrington. The design included a tanker that could also serve as a tank-as described-, a pool of water in the cup and a handle to activate the mechanism.
