I bet you're on my page to attempt to understand who Valerie Dukes really is. I'm not even sure of the definite answer to that question myself, but I would start by saying Valerie Dukes is a strategic, creative, energetic advertising student with a desire to learn and create beautiful things. I say "things" because I've never found a platform or medium I didn't enjoy deconstructing and recreating.

Currently, I am the president of a student-run advertising agency and a weekly columnist for The Odyssey Newspaper.

I find a wide assortment of topics and activities interesting; everything--from studying the history and botanical background of traditional cocktails to collecting paper maps from everywhere around the world--proves to be stimulating to me. But what I love doing the most and have worked hardest on is creative strategy and ideation. Conceptualizing a striking idea while scribbling down notes, scrolling through different fonts, or even painting my nails gives me a shot of adrenaline. Maybe it's the right idea or maybe it's not. But the thrill I get from brainstorming is real...and probably a little unusual.

My goal now is to utilize my experience and passion for creation to make a living. Because no one wants to look back on their life and wish they would have spent their time doing what they love.
