Valerie Lewis

Greetings, my name is Valerie. I live north of the Toronto area, and have been working at my school board for 14 years. Within my role, I am a Grade K-8 planning time teacher, and mostly teach music.

Before this current assignment, I taught an online Kindergarten class where I came across several students who represented multilingual families. It was an interesting journey for me, and I realized it would be helpful to grow in the area of teaching English language learners.

I hope to grow in the area of understanding how these students learn best, and what strategies I can use to support them, both in the classroom and while interacting with their families.

I have a wonderful husband and two boys. We enjoy watching our boys play travel basketball, and playing music at our church. We also have a pet bunny that we all adore.
