Valerie Picco

New Hampshire resident Valerie Picco has built a strong professional foundation. Ms. Picco previously worked as a Staff Accountant for NxStage Medical, Inc., a New England-based medical products company. Her responsibilities included daily bank account reconciliation, subsidiary journal entries, balancing monthly sheet accounts, and completing various special projects. She presently seeks employment opportunities on Cape Cod in Massachusetts to coincide with her move planned for September 2011. Ms. Picco earned an Associate degree in Business and Paralegal Studies from McIntosh College in 2003. Later that year, she enrolled in Southern New Hampshire University and completed her B.S. in Accounting in 2006. In fall 2011, she will begin a program to earn a Master’s degree in Accounting at her Manchester alma mater. Ms. Picco is currently studying to become a certified public accountant (CPA), as well. Valerie Picco’s experience began in January 2006 for the CPA firm Howe, Riley & Howe, where she provided a wide range of services including auditing, tax preparation, and financial statement compilation. For 17 months beginning in 2007, Valerie Picco worked for Retirement Alliance, Inc., a 401(k) administration firm. As a Staff Accountant, she performed bank and account reconciliations, was in charge of accounts receivable and collections, and customer dispute resolution. Beginning in 2009, Ms. Picco served as the sole auditor at a small accounting firm, performing audits and reviews on an array of businesses and organizations. Dedicated to serving her community, Valerie Picco volunteered nearly 14 years for the Town of Raymond, New Hampshire, serving as Chairperson of the Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Capital Improvements Program Committee. From 2002 to 2006, she worked for four local schools, taking minutes during board meetings. Outside of her professional and volunteer activities, Ms. Picco enjoys riding horses and running 5K races. She holds membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Southern New Hampshire Dressage and Combined Training Association.
