Valley Vet Non-Profit
It is our belief, based upon the number of pets turned in to the local animal shelter and the high number of feral cats seen in our community, that there are thousands of unspayed and unneutered cats and dogs in each community. Further, if serious programs are not implemented to address this problem, the pain and suffering of these unwanted pets will be unacceptable.
In order for a successful, significant reduction of unwanted cats and dogs to occur, it is our opinion an organization with three essential constituencies be formed:
1. A strong volunteer base to:
- Promote the spaying and neutering of pets;
- Assist in the trapping of feral animals;
- Assist during the special "Spay Days";
- Provide outreach by going into the community to inform residents about the program.
2. A veterinary facility with veterinarians and a qualified staff with a strong commitment to perform the spay and neuter surgeries.
3. Committed political officials and a group of citizens that will help to raise funds (through a nonprofit entity) to ensure the financing of the basic costs of spay and neuter surgeries.
