Volunteer Alliance Nepal

Volunteer Alliance Nepal (VAN) is the sister organization/program of RCDP- Nepal, the first and most reputed volunteer program in Nepal. The idea behind Volunteer Alliance Nepal is to raise funds for VAN supported orphanages and the children they serve. Every year hundreds of volunteers from UK and US based organizations come to Nepal and end up paying as much as $2,500 for two weeks of service. Unfortunately, only a small portion of this money, if any, actually goes to the orphanages. Orphanages, schools, and grass root organizations in Nepal are often resource poor, understaffed, and struggle to operate on a daily basis.

These organizations are in great need of financial support. Volunteer Alliance Nepal is trying to change this practice by employing the strategy of direct volunteerism.
