Valter Valença
Born in Recife, Brazil in 1947, I immigrated to the United States in 1967 at the age of 20. Two years later, in 1969, while working as a dishwasher for the Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Md, then Washington Sanitarium and Hospital, I met my wife, a pretty blue eye girl. After a short period of courting, by years’ end, we were joined in Holy matrimony in the Silver Spring SDA church. By 1972, we were the proud parents of two children, David and Cristina (Tina). Since then, I have worked in consultant engineer firms, and In 1988, after passing the professional engineering test, I received a mechanical engineer’s license from the State of Maryland. In the last ten years I have published two books titled: Living in God’s Battlefield: How Will I Survive?; and, In Jesus’ Sleeping Quarters: A Father’s Journey Through His Daughter’s Illness.
