• Taurimas VALYS is a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania; also Mr. Valys is a Governor at Board at International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA, Austria), Executive Board member at both Invest Lithuania (national investment promotion agency) and (national) Innovation Agency of the Republic of Lithuania.
• As a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Mr. T. Valys is a member of (National) Economic Diplomacy Council and Chairman of Economic Diplomacy Council Task Force (working group) led by MFA (LT). He is also in charge of the following areas:
  ✔ Economic diplomacy (trade & economic relations - promotion of overall commerce/exports, tourism & foreign investment)
  ✔ Economic security policy
  ✔ Lithuania's foreign trade policy
  ✔ Participation in international economic organizations (UN, WTO, OECD, CERN, ISO, ICAO, WIPO, et al)
  ✔ Defense industry development initiatives
  ✔ Implementation of Lithuanian diaspora policy (incl. the development of measures to encourage return to Lithuania and the strengthening of diaspora ties).
• Before MFA activities he was a Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister on Economic Diplomacy and Efficiency of State-Owned Enterprises; in parallel, he held the following positions while working at the office of Lithuanian Prime Minister:

  ✔ Member of the National Economic Diplomacy Council (managed by the Government Office), Member of the Economic Diplomacy Action Group (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), - shaping national economic strategies;

• Taurimas Valys is an ex-Vice President of 3 chambers of commerce (Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Crafts, the Turkish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, and the French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce.
• He was previously officially elected as a Vilnius City Council member, supervising subsidiary municipal companies (supervising and managing a 1,3 billion+ EUR annual budget).
• With over 15 years of experience as an International Team Leader, Taurimas has a global perspective and has successfully implemented strategic investment, business development, public financial engineering, international cooperation, and commercial projects across 6 continents.
• Taurimas is also a co-founder of an EU mutual bank (a credit union providing overall banking services (incl. deposits, credits, e-banking, debit/credit cards, etc), www.unija.lt), regulated by the branch of the ECB (85M+ EUR portfolio; 100M+ EUR of overall long-term assets; annual turnover around half a BILLION EUR).
