Greg Vandermause

Welcome! My name is Greg Vandermause and I am excited to share my journey with you! I am a hard-working individual who specializes in educating broadcasting students through personal mentoring and engaging productions.

My brand is simple. I will work hard with you and bring real value to your college experience and internships through a simple concept known as “ownership”. I am all about doing, rather than talk. Treat everything like it is your own. You will enjoy life much more that way.

I was born and raised in Kiel, Wisconsin. My parents owned a supper club, which is a fancier way of saying a family owned restaurant and banquet hall. I began busing tables in that restaurant when I was 8 years old. I did every job in the restaurant and throughout that experience, it laid the foundation of hard work and the value of people and the customer. My parent's livelihood depended on people enjoying their dining experience, and I made sure that happened. It taught me ownership. They succeeded, their employees succeeded, we all succeeded.

My passion has always been sports television production. I earned a BA from the place I currently work at, Bethany Lutheran College, which specializes in just that. After college, I got the dream job at ESPN in Bristol, CT, where I spent 7 years working in TV coordinating some of the biggest games in sports on ESPN’s networks. It was the best job. Or so I thought. I wanted more. I was one dimensional. I had a need to give more to a company and lead. My next steps led me back to where it all began, at Bethany, where I now lead that program. I recently earned my Master's degree in New Media Journalism from Full Sail University in August 2019.

My focus is mentoring people who have an interest in learning and studying about broadcasting. I love sharing experiences and asking people what they have dreams about. Life is all about relationships. I preach it in every class I teach and every production we do. Those connections propel us forward, ownership in our work showcases what we are about.
