Vanessa Michelle Amaya was born in Houston, Texas on July 14th 1991. Shortly after turning 6 years old Vanessa had been given the opportunity to take her first ever elective which ended up being Theater Arts, it only took a few minutes of class time for her to catch the "acting bug" that would soon lead to a lifetime of performing and a never ending passion for the arts. Vanessa's earliest training had stemmed from the local Town and Country Playhouse, Suzanne Seman's Studio, Project Greenroom, and Theater Under the Stars as well as many others. Vanessa's performing career began with multiple Theatre and Musical Theatre credits behind her name. During her time in middle school Vanessa competed in PSIA (Private School Interscholastic Association) in the following categories: Impromptu Acting, Poetry Interpretation, and One Act Play. Vanessa had placed not only locally, but had also had gone on to compete at state levels for her performances. Shortly after entering High School, Vanessa had been given the opportunity to audition for a $1,000 scholarship to Project Greenroom after her English professor had expressed his belief in her talents, a scholarship which she ended up receiving. Continuing with her career, Vanessa finished her Senior year with one of the most memorable performances of the year, when she went on to embody the character of 'Gollum' from The Hobbit. Not only did her performance land her immense recognition amongst her classmates, it also gave everyone a real idea of how far Vanessa was willing to go to bring a character to life. Vanessa's performance as "Gollum" was written up in her High School's monthly newspaper highlighting her as their "Student Success of the Month". In High School, Vanessa competed at both the local and state levels for Duet Acting, Poetry Interpretation, and Solo Acting. After graduating from St. Pius X High School in Houston, Vanessa transitioned into Commercials, Television, and Feature Films. The road has not always been an easy one for Vanessa, but her persistence and true love for what she does keeps her moving forward. Vanessa's resume will continue to build as she graces the screen in a few upcoming films, this is only the beginning.
