Vanessa Martinez

Vanessa was born in Miami, Florida. She attended Felix Varela Senior High, where she was elected Class President for four consecutive years. Upon graduation, she wanted to stay close to home and currently attends Florida International University. She is double majoring in Public Administration and Political Science and has recently picked up a Marketing Minor. During her time at FIU, she has set goals to become a leader and a role model in the community. As a freshmen, she found a passion for helping others, which lead her to Student Government. She ran and was successfully elected into office as a Lower Division Senator. While in Senate, she became the Internal Affairs Chair. Once her term ended, she found that it was important for her to give more philanthropically, so she became the Programs Vice President for her Panhellenic Organization. Although her Vice Presidential role required a lot of responsibilities, she did not stop there. Vanessa also became Planning Director for FIU’s Dance Marathon. Wanting to help others realize their leadership potential, she recently became part of the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society’s executive board.
