Vanessa Chen

Photographer in New York

If there's one word to describe me, it's versatile. But even though I love learning and cultivating knowledge about a little bit of everything, I know where I'm headed and I accept that life doesn't always turn out the way you expect it to—but that's part of the journey. That's how you know where to go next. So I take it all in stride. Every experience is one to learn from; life's exciting when you make it so.

Breaks are important. In my free time, I volunteer, try new, local (NYC) restaurants, read my news, learn something new, practice Spanish, discover new music, take a day trip out of the city, or take my SLR out for a walk (that would be my camera—not the name of a dog).

If you have names of organizations to volunteer with, places you recommend shooting, writing tips, must-try restaurants, new bands, or anything else at all, drop a note and I'll return the favor.
