I am an academic and researcher with a passion for technology and innovation, focused on solving real-world challenges and preparing future generations for the digital future. I am currently a Professor and Cisco Instructor at the Polytechnic University of Castelo Branco and a Researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações in Portugal. I also served as Head of Communications at AMA – Agência para a Modernização Administrativa, IP, in Portugal. I have over 20 years of experience in technological and academic projects.
My academic career began with a B.Sc. degree in Informatics Engineering from the University of Coimbra, followed by a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Beira Interior.
In the scientific realm, I have over 100 publications in journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings, as well as 2 patents, in areas such as vehicular networks, delay/disruption tolerant networks, Internet of Things, smart cities, and smart farming. I actively contribute to the academic community as a member of the editorial board, reviewer, and guest editor for several international journals, in addition to participating as an organiser, scientific committee member, and reviewer for national and international conferences.
I have participated in national and European research projects with the aim of generating practical results that have a real impact. As a Senior Member of the IEEE, I am committed to strengthening the bridge between academia and industry by promoting innovation and collaboration.
