I am a dedicated academic and researcher with a passion for technology and innovation as well as empowering future generations. I am currently a Professor and Cisco Instructor at the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, Portugal. I am also a Researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações, Portugal. I have over 20 years of expertise.
My academic journey commenced with a five-year B.Sc. degree in Informatics Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, followed by the attainment of a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal.
My contributions to the field include over 100 papers in esteemed journals, book chapters, and conferences, alongside 2 patents. I actively contribute to the academic community as an editorial board member, reviewer, and guest editor for various international journals. Moreover, I am dedicated to fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange as an organizer, technical program committee member, and reviewer for national and international conferences.
My involvement in national and European research projects, particularly focusing on vehicular networks and Internet of things, underscores my commitment to driving impactful research outcomes. As a Senior Member of IEEE, I am deeply committed to driving innovation and fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
My research interests span a diverse array of areas, including vehicular networks, delay/disruption tolerant networks, Internet of things, smart cities, and smart farming. I thrive on exploring novel solutions to address real-world challenges and enhance societal well-being.
