Proud Brownsville, Brooklyn Native Vashti is a multidisciplinary artist and nonprofit leader, currently living and working in Philadelphia.

I have always balanced my passion for the arts with a calling to social justice as a nonprofit professional. My leadership experience includes nonprofit management, business development, program design, marketing and branding facilitation as well as fundraising, board development and grant writing.

I work with individuals and organizations to assist them to discover their core mission and support them to innovate with how they conceive of challenges and problems so how they resolve them is something brand new, ingenious and singular.

Learning to read was my first political act, and that power to navigate through real and imagined worlds informs my creative pursuit. When not lost in a book, I am curating, directing and producing theater events which deal with social and cultural issues. My recent work often casts the environment as a principle actor, and incorporates multiple artists and art disciplines in that conception to render an enlivening final product.

I use my skills as an artist and entrepreneur to convert mission and vision into a hook that is elegant and easily duplicable so we are more apt, to not just use it, but run with it, and enjoy greater success as a result.

Fort Mom Productions, my self-described “virtual Bed and Breakfast,” is a consulting business committed to empowering women and girls from the inside out. We can dramatically improve the spiritual, cultural, and socioeconomic conditions of all communities by supporting women and girls at every stage of their development. Fort Mom offers personalized products and services which meet the diverse needs of women and girls.
Fort Mom is also the engine behind a number of creative projects. Including actress and comedian Jennifer Blaine’s upcoming show “Dirty Joke,” which will run at the Annenberg Theater in Philadelphia March 6th and 7th.

Sometimes I collaborate with a team of experts to finalize a vision. My success as a coach, consultant, and visionary is that where other people may be stopped by a lack of ideas or resources, I introduce perspectives and solutions that catalyze the whole team to realize their vision as well as incorporate their own new ideas.
