Mahikeng based multi talented artist and producer, Veekay is ready to take over Mzansi after his hit song One Love became a craze in Germany, England and Portugal dance and electronic music scenes.
The 26 year old appears very humble, loves and respects people. He describes himself as crazy about music and ever smiling; a very ambitious person who doesn’t believe in quitting and a budding philanthropist who believes in changing people with his music.

Three singles picked up from Veekay debut album; Summer Love, Chasing Shadows and One Love have enjoyed considerate airplay and high rotation internationally. Now South Africans will finally get a taste of Veekay’s infectious house beats when the album debuts locally, the local release is set to take place in August 2013. Veekay has the natural talent that allows him to effortlessly produce hits in the house, hip hop and Setswana cultural music genres.

A boy who grew up playing in the dusty village of Magogoe in the North West province in South Africa, Veekay has come a long to hone his craft and to have one of his tracks being licensed by one of South Africa’s leading record Labels Soul Candi as an addition to his accolades. Although Veekay started performing at weddings at the age of seven, he fell in love with the idea of becoming a musician in 2004 in his last year of high school.

With his sight squarely fixed on becoming a South African icon and trendsetter, Veekay took part in the EMI etv Backstage Music competition in 2005 which was aired on the local broadcaster, etv. Veekay made it onto the Top 10 for North West province leg and today says that talent search shows are important because this is where musicians meet music contracts, ‘there is someone watching you and if you give it your all it becomes easier for recording companies to sign you’.

Veekay’s music is a mixture of soulful vocals on house beats which have deep, tribal and electro elements. Upon sending some tracks to Soul Candi,records, he got a call back for a meeting where he presented more of his work. One of his tracks, ‘Come With Me’ ended up being licensed to Soul Candi Records.

Veekay has managed to get his music playlisted on international radio stations that specializes in dance and electronic music across six countries. These include Energy fm and Qh Radio in England, DeckSharks fm and QuintEssenz Radio in Germany, Radio Singa 104.0 in Portugal, Raw fm, and Radio Afro in Aus
