Catherine Vega

Catherine Vega is a recent graduate from Florida International University. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and is actively seeking opportunities to enhance her professional development in social media and communications. Currently she is an Intern for Azucar Communications and Think Commerce Group working on Social Media and Blogger Relations.

During her undergraduate career at Florida International University she had the privilege of coordinating student activities with three major organizations on campus: Student Programming Council, Student Government Council, and the Student Alumni Association. Within the Student Government Council and Student Alumni Association she gained experience in planning fundraising events that would encourage networking among students, faculty, and alumni. She also learned how to cater these memorable experiences to the diverse student population and prominent alumni.

As Student Programming Council President, she was responsible for the majority of student activities on the Biscayne Bay Campus with a budget of over $100,000. With this budget she oversaw and administered over sixty events that provided the student body with culturally diverse programming and encouraged student pride throughout campus. At the end of her term Catherine was able to receive a $100,000 increase in funding for her council. This was the first increase in funding in five years.

Ultimately, Catherine hopes to find a career that will foster her creativity, dedication, and passion for innovation.
