Louie Velez has supported many divisions of the bank while implementing visionary initiatives over a 30 year period in the banking industry. His career started in the early 80’s with the Purchasing Office - Services Division, where he was in charge of security of controlled serializes items, vendor relationships and bank’s records, compliance, and retention for many bank-wide departments and branches. Louie then ventured over to the up start Electronic Banking.

Then in the 90’s he stepped up to the Commercial Banking side of the business with the support of Management. All while making an exciting transition into Cash Management Services which offered a suite of Treasury and Electronic Banking products delivery, while learning how deliver great customer service and support for managing their corporate finances and investments. At the same time he started getting exposure into the world of mergers and acquisitions for the very first time.

Louie then moved over to the Bank’s Operations and Automation Group working for Productivity Services Department which supported the bank as Internal Consultants providing Industrial Engineering services and operational recommendation for cost savings. He started managing projects pertaining directly to Workforce Management and internal Process Improvements.

Throughout his entire career there has always been an involvement with the technology internal and external to the bank. His goal was fostering team work and long lasting relationships during his collaborations and a common goal of providing great customer service and superior product development to others. He left to take a great opportunity working in the Information and Technology Group to develop software for the following in-house growth applications (i.e. Teller, New Accounts, and ATM) as a Systems & Business Analyst and Project Manager while working with a dedicated group of Software and Application developers. He was heavily involved in the Y2K Project which was a tremendous experience prior to leaving for his next adventure so of speaks. Louie was asked to consider coming back to one of his former departments which had now changed its focus strictly on supporting the Retail Banking Group. While working in the Capacity Management Services, it allowed Louie to use all his previous experiences with Workforce Management and Optimization modeling.
