Venkat Subramanian Somasundaram

Venkat Somasundaram is a recent MBA graduate from the Schulich School of Business, York University with a focus in Strategy, Sustainability & Marketing. Drawing upon mechanical engineering, business and diverse industry experiences, he is currently an independent consultant with businesses and not-for-profits, assisting them to integrate sustainable practices into their core business model.

Prior to his MBA, he has about 5 years of global experience in automotive industry (Ashok Leyland Limited, India), financial services industry (Scotiabank, Canada) and various social not-for-profits.
His experience includes sustainability consulting, strategy formulation and execution, business planning, customer service, product management, corporate social responsibility and multicultural banking.
Among many managerial responsibilities, building the iBus—an innovative eco-friendly public transit bus—along with 30 young cross-functional executives was a milestone in his career.
