Christopher Libertelli

For over twenty years, Mr. Libertelli has worked on public policies that affect the technology, telecommunications, and entertainment industries. He has developed specific expertise in the areas of intellectual property law and licensing, telecommunications regulation and network interconnection policies. Mr. Libertelli has also practiced in the emerging area of platform regulation and has been an active participant in several media and telecom merger reviews conducted by US and EU antitrust officials.

Most recently, Mr. Libertelli worked as Vice President, Global Public Policy at Netflix, Inc. He led Netflix’s advocacy before government officials across the globe—from Washington to Brasilia to Brussels and further afield. Mr. Libertelli joined Netflix from Skype, where he managed the company’s government relations programs in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. Before joining Skype, he was Senior Legal Advisor to FCC Chairman Michael K. Powell. In this capacity, Mr. Libertelli developed recommendations for implementing the Telecommunications Act of 1996, addressing national security matters, and establishing rules under the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act.

Mr. Libertelli received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law. He has addressed many media and telecommunications industry conferences and has testified before lawmakers in the United States, Europe, Canada, and Asia. Recently, he was surprised to find himself in Washington Life’s 2017 “Power 100” (next to Corey Lewandowski). He lives with his family in Washington, D.C.
