Vera L. Ashford

I was born and raised in Port Huron, Michigan (yes, it's on the water) and attended St. Clair County Community College before transferring to Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. I received my Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology and a minor in English. Love me some Shakespeare and hate me some preposition at the end of a sentence.

While attending graduate school I married, moved to Detroit, had my son, divorced.

During all of that I became employed in the administrative side of the construction industry and gained jobsite management experience including certified payroll reports, OCIP programs, HUD documentation and payment applications. Anything that needs to be submitted with a blue ink signature. I love it.

I have been involved with the construction of Comerica Park (home the Detroit Tigers), McNamara Terminal (DTW), the Detroit Public Schools Capital Improvement Bond Program ($1.5B) management team, MGM Grand Casino and Hotel (Detroit) and the Westin Book-Cadillac Hotel (Detroit).

I have experience in public speaking and would like to do more. I also want to increase my business development experience.

Films are a hobby of mine, and as of late I have been playing around with various editing software. Fun!
