Vera Fortman

Vera Fortman now leads (TWO) Technical Woman's Organization as the National President from the Southwest Region in Fort Worth, Texas. Ms. Fortman is an Aviation Technical Specialist in the Quality Control Group. She has displayed her dedication to the goals of TWO since joining the organization as a full member in 2005. She served as the Central Region Representative, Southwest Regional Director and now the National President.
Ms. Fortman has 30+ years of federal service which includes 9 years with the Department of Defense. She began her FAA career in 1992 and completed training at the Springfield Training Center in 1994. As an Airway Transportation System Specialist in the Columbia System Support Center (COU SSC) Vera was involved in project installations at facilities to include the Remote Center Air/Ground Communications, Air Traffic Control Tower and the Automated Flight Service Station. In 2001, Ms. Fortman moved to Olathe, Kansas to work at the Midstates Operation Control Center as an Operation Control Center Specialist.
As a member of TWO, Vera has participated in several conferences, mentoring youth, and aviation awareness. Her interest in becoming a member of the TWO Executive Board grew from a need for networking opportunities, self-development, and a desire to gain career insight from others in the FAA while mentoring others. She served TWO as the Central Region Representative before she relocated to Fort Worth, TX in 2009 and becoming the Southwest Regional Representative. Ms. Fortman is always ready to assist in making a difference and moving TWO to the next level.
