Christopher OShana

Christopher “BOATS” Oshana is a father, husband, veteran, student and photographer. My greatest inspiration is life and what it has to offer. I started taking photos when I joined the Navy back in 1984, but was never able to truly pursue my passion because of my time in the service. After I retired from service to our country I picked up the camera again, and it was a photo of one of my twin daughters that reignited the passion.

I am attending Phoenix College in pursuit of an AAS in Digital Photography and have become more focused on the pursuit of doing this for a living. I have to thank my family, friends, mentors Christopher Barr of Christopher Barr Photography and Michael Meyers of 3D Design Visualization/Concept Design, for their support in my endeavors. Since 2007, when I picked the camera backup I have received numerous awards for my photography including the Maricopa County Community College District Artist of Promise winner in 2011, the Western Eye Photography Competition 2012 and in 2013 I was granted work space and an internship with Wayne Rainey at the monOchid Gallery and Rainey Studios.
