After accepting the invitation of his neighbor Linda Overturf, he visited Faith Baptist Church in Beavercreek, Ohio and heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the first time. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on Feb 1, 1981. Military Service: He entered the US Air Force and received a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1980. From 1980-83 he served at the Avionics Laboratory - Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio where he served as an electronic engineer. For two years he developed active electronic countermeasures against Soviet weapon targeting systems. For one year he managed a program that developed design specifications for the first MIL-STD-1750A (Military Standard Sixteen-Bit Computer Instruction Set Architecture) microprocessor utilizing VHSIC (Very High Speed Integrated Circuit) Technology. Lt. Lampman was reassigned in 1983 to Langley AFB, Virginia and was promoted to Captain in 1984. He left active duty in 1988 and became a reserve officer. In 1990, Capt. Lampman was assigned to the 71st Aerial Port Squadron at Langley AFB, Virginia as an Air Transportation Officer. He was promoted to Major in 1994 and served as the Squadron Operations Officer. In 1991 he and the 71 APS were called to active duty in support of Operation DESERT STORM at Dover AFB, Delaware. He managed the storage, retrieval and loading of air cargo. He returned to active duty in 1993 at Dover AFB to assist with airlift operations to Somalia. He specialized in originating VA guaranteed loans. Since 1995, he has been an "Over The Road" truck driver with 10 of those years as an Owner/Operator. He has logged 2 million miles traveled in 48 states and Canada. Vern's CB Handle is "The Wealthy Trucker". He and his wife Melissa are the owners of PathStone Global, Inc., an International Home Business Solutions Provider. "Paving the Path to Prosperity" He helps others as a Prosperity Mentor. Political Philosophy: Vern is a Fiscal and Social Conservative. He is best described as a "Reagan Conservative". President George W. Bush was correct in going to war in Afghanistan and Iraq. He was wrong for caving into liberals and increasing social program spending. He also blew it by not clearly identifying Islam as the enemy of Western Civilization. Barry Goldwater got it right on labor unions, fiscal and military policy and was wrong on his libertarian views and rejection of the "Christian Right". Libertarianism is an UNGODLY and DANGEROUS ideology that should NOT be confused with Conservatism! -------------------------------------- Just an FYI ... Often I will post items that are somewhat provocative in nature. These are NOT intended to OFFEND but merely to stimulate thought and conversation. I am truly interested in the opinions of others - God knows that I don't have all the answers - LOL! Personal attacks are OFF LIMITS! However, challenges to opinions, beliefs, concepts, politics, religion, habits, activities, lifestyles, ideas, etc are fair game. Fair Enough? --------------------------------------- *** Legal NOTICE *** The views expressed on this Facebook Account or any other Facebook pages or groups or websites owned/operated by Vern Lampman and PathStone Global Incorporated are solely those of Vern Lampman and not those of the authors' employers, employees, coworkers, trustees or assigns.
