Thank you for checking my profile.

I’m an enthusiast for developing e-business. I mix my time between acting as a director of Science Capital and teaching e-business, academic writing and research skills at Oxford Brookes University and WMG in the University of Warwick.

My background is in communication. For many years I worked in traditional book publishing, and I see the web as another – yet very different – medium rather than as gadgets and technology. In the past I’ve authored books on the history of evolution, on the Internet and on practical theology. Now I write articles on using the Internet for business and give lectures and training on academic writing.

Having started my own web design company some years ago, and as Director of Science Capital, I have a continuing interest in developing small businesses. The research students I supervise at Warwick University’s WMG and Oxford Brookes engage with SMEs in Birmingham and the Midlands. If you would like a free researcher for a year, let me know! Recent projects include e-commerce, mobile marketing, IT security, social media, search engine optimisation (SEO), new business planning, web analytics, affiliate marketing and building successful web sites. The students’ research work and questions keep me up to date in a wide range of e-business skills. There's more information at www.sciencecapital.co.uk/ebusiness-projects.

My varied background, from medical physics to e-business through book publishing and web design, means that I can assess business issues from a wide perspective and have the skills to communicate as a presenter and writer.
