Veronica Wilson

My name is Veronica, but everyone calls me Roni for short. I was raised in Edwardsville, Illinois where I attended St. Boniface Catholic school for nine years. At St. Boniface, I learned about morals and values to live in my everyday life. I also was able to participate in a number of different activities including Model United Nations, Athletics, and Music Programs. It's safe for me to say, without St. Boniface, I would not be the woman I am today.

After St. Boniface, I attended Edwardsville High School. It was a little scary at first going from a school of less than two hundred to a school of more than two thousand! I eventually found my way and played both basketball and volleyball. I then decided to interview to be in Student Council (StuCo). After being asked to join the small council of only thirty students, I was cut from volleyball and I decided athletics was not the niche for me. I stayed with StuCo for the rest of my high school career and eventually became Vice President of Community Outreach. My senior year I was privlidged to join National Honor's Society and Spanish Honor's Society. I was officers of both.

Outside of high school, I was a very independent person. I worked hard for what I wanted and loved to voulnteer. I worked a few different jobs, but mostly at Bella Milano. I also voulnteered at a Christian Summer Camp for two weeks in the summer called Camp Piasa. My senior year I was asked to be the head Junior Counselor. I also got the opportunity to continue my love for volleyball by head coaching at my old school, St. Boniface.

Choosing my college was no easy task. I was not sure if I wanted to save money and attend a Junior College, or if my academics would give me scholarship money to attend a University. I was very fortunate. After attending a volleyball open gym, my dream to continue playing vollebyall was met with a scholarship to play volleyball at Lindenwood University!

I now attend Lindenwood University and play volleyball here! Go Lynx!
