Veronica Glab
Veronica Glab loves words. So much so that it's a daunting task to get her to stop talking when she gets up in arms about her favorite topics: politics, history, the European Union, and food.
Veronica always knew she would grow up to be a storyteller. Growing up Polish in the USA, she often played the mediator between two very different cultures--and learned how to relay the stories of the communities she grew up in.
This brought her to study International Relations at Boston University (BA), Comparative Politics at NYU (MA). Throughout her education, Veronica focused on Foreign Policy and Economic Policy in Europe and Latin America before putting her storytelling skills to use in various community building roles in the public sector and several start-ups.
Over the past four years, Veronica has spent two working in the Madrid public school system as an English and Science teacher. In this community building role, she developed strong relationships with her students, staff, and the local community--becoming very involved in the political scene.
With austerity politics creating growing factions in the Spanish population, Veronica needed to figure out a possible solution to increasing costs to education and social services. While pursuing her MA, then, she worked as a researcher and writer in the field of participatory budgeting and direct democracy.
Throughout this time, Veronica has matured as a writer and a strategic thinker focused on foreign policy, eurozone economics, and the occasional blog post.
When she's not writing, she indulges in the occasional (read: frequent) bowl of fresh pineapple or an episode of any culinary show involving Gordon Ramsay.
