--speaking officially--

I received my masters degree in Interior Environments from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1997 where I studied the design of Internet spaces. For my thesis project I designed, created and taught a course online with students in Madison and Australia. After graduation, my thesis concentration led me to join a small internet start up in Denver, CO called Real Education. Real Education became eCollege where I worked until 2000. I then took a 3 year hiatus from educational technology, designing interfaces for Microsoft Hotmail in the Bay Area. In 2003 I returned to Denver and to eCollege where I worked until the Pearson acquisition in 2007. I've worked for Pearson since 2007 leading a team of User Experience Designers.

--the real me--

I love figuring things out--that is what motivates me in my job. I'm more interested in environments and human behavior than I am in technology, but I love the things that technology has enabled us to do. I love the fact that we now have the ability to create amazing experiences on the internet. But what I love more than anything is watching my two boys grow up. I hope they become scientists or musicians, but really just want them to be happy. I spend too much money on bikes and sushi and I think Wisconsin is the greatest state in the Union.
