Veronique BULAYA is a young woman entrepreneur and social activist for women's rights and other vulnerable groups in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She is the initiator (founder) of VIJANA - MAJI NA USAFI (Young for WASH project) which contributes to the reinforcement of the participation of the young people (girls and boys) in the facilitation of the access to the drinking water and the improvement of hygienic conditions and sanitation for vulnerable families in the city of Bukavu in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Convinced of the immense potential of young people to positively influence society by carrying a message promoting WASH activities themselves, Veronique BULAYA has chosen to work with young people by giving them the opportunity to participate in the front line in the field in implementation of this project. Despite the difficult social and economic context in the DRC, Veronique BULAYA remains determined to meet this challenge by always demonstrating exceptional courage and creativity in carrying out actions aimed at improving the social conditions of women and other vulnerable groups. and marginalized in her current role as program director of the NGO PIFEVA (Pillar to Vulnerable Women Active in DR Congo).
