Vicky Fiska
Research Associate, Medical Engineer, and PhD Student in Thessaloniki, Greece
Vicky holds a MEng in Informatics & Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Western Macedonia (UOWM) and an MSc in Medical Informatics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). She is a PhD Student in Medical Engineering at UOWM, a Research Associate at CERTH and has a passion for health sciences, electrical engineering and embedded systems technology.
From 2015 to 2018 she was a Robotics & Coding Educator at the Robotics Academy of the University of Macedonia in Greece (UoM), educating children on designing, programming and controlling fully-functional models and robots that carry out life-like automated tasks. From 2017-2020 she was a Computer Science Instructor for the CTY online program at Anatolia College in Greece. She also worked from 2017-2020 as a Software Engineer at MALVI Design, where she is was in charge of a wide range of software projects, ranging from designing and developing VR & AR applications, to implementing e-commerce solutions.
She is a Coding Instructor for the Codegirls program, sponsored by the U.S. Mission to Greece and the Greek NGO Mataroa, striving to close the gender gap in the technology and engineering sectors. She is also a proud IVLP Alumna of the program “Hidden No More 2019”.
