Vicki Bern

Salem, Oregon, United States

I am a Graduate Student at George Fox University and will be receiving my MA in Clinical Mental Health in May of 2015. I am interning at Northwest Human Services, West Salem Clinic in Salem, OR until that time.

I received my BA in Social and Behavioral Studies from George Fox University in December 2010.

My Passion is working with women and their children who have experienced domestic violence, poverty, addiction, trauma, depression and/or anxiety. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects in a healing and growth producing environment, providing a safe haven to empower clients. I believe attachment plays a role in a host of mental health issues and addressing that wound is beneficial and life changing for those seeking professional help. I also believe in Child Centered Play Therapy for children who have experienced trauma, Sandtray Therapy for adolescents and adults, and Filial Therapy - Child Parent Relationship Training (CPRT) for parents of children who have experienced trauma.
