After working in newsrooms for several years in Missouri, I took my skills to an international nonprofit organization. I was the social media coordinator for the largest nonprofit in Kansas. In 2015, revenue (child sponsorships) acquired through social media had a 41% growth over FY14.

In my current role at Burns & McDonnell, a top international engineering, architecture, and consulting firm, I lead the firm's social media initiatives, driving brand awareness and leads.

I am highly motivated, detail-oriented and results-driven. My strongest skills include: Social Media Strategy & Management, Storytelling, Content Development & Marketing, Associated-Press Style Writing, Analytics, Adobe Photoshop and Copy Editing.

I am married to an incredible guy who I met at KSHB-TV. He's an Emmy award-winning TV director. We have 1 adorable daughter and 2 loving dogs. Our dog, Lexi The Samoyed, is the star of a viral video, attracting more than 14 million views.

I grew up in the Chicagoland area. My amazing parents had 10 kids. I'm the fifth oldest of the 5 girls and 5 boys. My mother, who was born deaf, passed away 3 days before my 13th birthday in a tragic car accident. The Swoboda Deaf Center was named in honor of my mom. When my father remarried, I gained a wonderful stepmom and 2 stepsisters. Shortly thereafter, my half sister was born; in total, there are 13 kids.

I attended the University of Missouri in Columbia where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism. I have lived in Missouri for more than 10 years. I would love to travel more. I hope to take trips with my daughter when she gets older. One of my favorite trips has been to El Salvador. It was an eye-opening adventure.

I love to tell stories, and I hope to make a positive impact in this world.
