Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Major in Athens, Ga

Hello, I am Victor Cristian, a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Major at the University of Georgia. I am a first-year student on a pre-med pathway hoping to become an orthopedic family doctor.

One important thing to know about me is that I am infatuated with sports. Growing up I tried all kinds of sports. I played soccer from four years old all the way through fourth grade where I had decided to switch to basketball. I never could really get behind the competitiveness of soccer as it felt more like a fun pastime but got way too demanding for a sport I did not care about. I enjoyed basketball because of its fast paced nature that allowed me to build deeper connections with my teammates then soccer did. I kept playing the sport through tenth grade where I had to stop because of a torn MCL injury leading me to quit my basketball playing days. I continued coaching basketball for U10 teams while also picking up my third sport of volleyball. While short lived, I had tried to form a men’s volleyball team at my high school but came up short in success. Despite that my high school had won the women’s state championship two of the four years I went there, no teacher had stepped up to be the coach. To add on top of the tragedy of a story this is, the two club teams I had made ended up being dismembered for a lack of players committing to play leading me to have to give up on playing volleyball competitively.

I now have retired from my competitive life in sports as now you can find me at Ramsey playing intramural basketball or volleyball with my friends while playing for the Georgia Club handball team. Even though it may seem that many of my sports adventures have been cut short due to injuries or unfortunate circumstances, I wouldn't have traded it for anything else in the world.
