Victoria Beale

I'm a journalist living in New York, currently working on a story about a cold case in New Jersey. My previous reporting project was a story about two boys, ten and eleven, tried on conspiracy to murder charges in rural Washington state. It was published by Buzzfeed Longform. David Grann, a staff writer for The New Yorker, described the article as "Deeply reported, disturbing, important," and it was chosen as one of The New Yorker's Weekend Reads.

I've also written for the New Yorker about the ethics of interviewing a serial killer, for the Los Angeles Review of Books about growing up reading Mary Gaitskill, for the New Republic on phone hacking and the London riots, for the Economist on the pioneering writer Rebecca West and Greek cinema, as well as for the Guardian on Newcastle, divorces in literature, and watching the same film every day for a year. I've also written about books for the Financial Times, Independent, Daily Beast, and New York Times. I've included a few links below, but email me if you're interested in a full list of published articles or a résumé.
