Follow interests; grow independence; succeed together.

I am a warm, enthusiastic educator with a deep love of science and nature. I aim to empower children to grow their independence and self-confidence as they master skills and develop a life-long interest in learning.

My teaching practice incorporates evidence-based approaches to build a learning environment where students feel safe and secure as they try new things, test their limits and make mistakes. In our classroom you may see us:

  • co-creating a safe and inclusive learning environment, including building predictable routines to get us through the day
  • modelling and teaching grace, courtesy and social-emotional learning (and discussing what this looks like in different cultures)
  • investigating our class library (which covers a range of topics, reading abilities and points of view)
  • exploring our abilities and building confidence through risky play outdoors
  • discovering our community through field trips and guest speakers (including family members)

Key Skills:

  • Master of Science, biology
