I was born and raised in Rolla, Missouri, where I was active in my high school's marching band, jazz band, drama department, and art club. I went to Missouri State University. I graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Design with a double minor in Art History and General Business. While at MSU, I worked as a photographer for the school's publications department for two years. In 2005, I began my part-time photography business, Bon Visto Photography, which I ran for six years.

In 2008, I began working for Columbia College-Kansas City as their campus admissions manager shortly after graduating from MSU. During my employment, I completed an Associate of Arts in Business Administration and a Bachelor of General Studies with a minor in Political Science. I also joined the Rotary Club of Eastern Independence to provide service to my community.

My interest in politics and government was growing, so I got involved with the Citizens with Disabilities Advisory Board. Then, in 2010, I worked on Kyle Yarber's independent write-in campaign for US Representative as the staff and volunteer coordinator. Although we did not win, this experience led to me becoming the staging location director at the Independence office for Governor Jay Nixon's successful re-election campaign in 2012.

The summer of 2012 also consisted of my graduation from American Public University with a Master of Arts in Political Science, emphasis in Public Policy, with honors. I also married my long-time boyfriend, Thaddeus, my husband that July--right before he left for China to teach English at Qingdao University. I joined him that December, and I taught English to both graduate and undergraduate students during the spring semester.

Between the semesters at Qingdao University, I decided to write a book. That book became Sign It Into Law: How to Put Your Petition on the Ballot. The ebook is available from Amazon and Smashwords.

Of course, I am not just my professional experience. I still love photography and create many fine art images, as well as occasionally shoot weddings and portraits. I am interested in film and music, and I enjoy spending time with my friends on karaoke night.
