After developing his passion for music at an early age through the studying of violin, Frenchconductor Victor Jacob started studying singing and piano at the French National Public Radiochildren’s choir La Maîtrise de Radio France as a chorister and soloist. From 2004, at the age of13, he has received the choir conducting training of Toni Ramon and then Sofi Jeannin at RadioFrance. He went on to complete his musicology bachelor at Paris La Sorbonne, his solfegeadvanced degree at the CRR de Paris, and his singing training with Dominique Moaty at the CRRd’Aubervillers-La Courneuve, while being a tenor in several professional choirs.
Victor had the opportunity to study orchestra conducting under the leadership of Neil Thomson.He is currently enrolled in the Master of conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Hehas participated in master classes with David Zinman, Sir Mark Elder and Martin Brabbins(symphonic repertoire), Jane Glover and Mark Shanahan (opera), Imogen Cooper and theOrchestra of the Age of Enlightenment with Maggie Faultless.
He is music director of the St Bartolomew’s Orchestra in London, and founding conductor ofPlace de l’Opéra orchestra in London and the Ensemble Nouvelles Portées in Paris.
