Victor Lazaro is a French Camera Operator and Steadicam Owner/Operator living in Brooklyn, NY, with a unique eye and instinctual sense for image composition. Victor has experience with multiple camera systems, including the RED Epic and Canon C300/100/500. He is a certified Steadicam Operator and member of the Steadicam Operators Association (SOA). He has worked on feature and short films (ABCD, The Tempest), TV episodes (The Wino Crossing, QCTV), and music videos (Three Days Grace, Hoody Allen, Emily Vasquez, DJ Vito Fun). Visit the Filmography page for more info on his past work.

Born and raised by two artists in Paris, France, Victor grew up with a hunger to learn how to capture the moving image, and made his first stop motion film at age 8. After graduating from the Ecole Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle (ESRA, Paris and New York), he went on to work as Camera Assistant on L’Emmerdeur (dir. Francis Veber), then as EPK on, The Tempest (dir. Julie Taymor) and “The Mechanic” (dir. Simon West). He later directed a music video for the French band Kipling called Lives & Walls, which was broadcast on MTV France. Victor has been working in New York since 2010. When not flying his Steadicam, he is the New Media Manager at NPR’s Radio Diaries, where he works on web coding and maintaining social media outlets.

Victor is a filmmaker in his own right. His short film "Détour" was selected for the Cape Cod Filmmaker Takeover in 2011. Victor co-founded AVtv Creations, a company blending the arts of film and dance, with choreographer Alissa Horowitz. They have created a series of short dance films and unique live performances, including Animal (Coney Island Film Festival, Dance Film Lab), La Maison des Rêves, and Episodes (live performances at CPR, Spoke the Hub, Bates College). In the past, he has worked extensively with clients in the arts to create short promotional, documentary, and artistic films. Selected past clients include visual artists LeRoy Neiman (US) and Eduardo Arranz-Bravo (SPA), choreographer Alias Hilsum (FR), and the Bates Dance Festival (US).
