Victor Padilla

Vancouver

I am on my fourth (and last year!!!) of my PhD on Materials Engineering at UBC. My project is on corrosion, the one thing that I love the most about corrosion is that it studies one of the most basic human’s fears: death and decay, but it also focused on one of humanities' greatest dreams: how to prevent it.

For the past eight years I have been working in different positions, I first worked at Hershey and Continental Automotive before starting my PhD, and while studying I have worked as a seasonal instructor at UBC, acted as VP Administration for the GSS of UBC, and even worked as a manager at the Koerner’s Pub.

There are few things in life that I enjoy more than challenges, and working with a team to achieve a common goal.
