Working as a Career Coach and Program Assistant for Students with Disabilities at KU Career Center gives me the opportunity to combine my passion in youth development and special education. As a career coach, I support students in making well-informed decisions about their career and academic development using career assessments interpretations and positive psychology theories. The unique part of my role involves being a career coach for students with physical or learning disabilities registered at Academic Achievement and Access Center (AAAC).
Outside of the office, I am a full-time graduate student in the Master’s of Special Education program focusing on Autism at KU. Coming from Jakarta, Indonesia, I’m using my free time to explore my new life here including playing squash and adjusting to Lawrence full-of-surprises weather, while maintaining my old hobbies of listening to jazz, bossanova and Indonesian pop, watching movies, and enjoying Broadway musicals.
