Mohiniyattam the lyrical expressive dance form of Kerala fascinated Vidya at a tender age. With her passion, focus and rigorous training she is one of the brightest talents of her generation.

She is a senior student of Mohiniyattam exponent, Dr. Neena Prasad, and has undergone extensive and authentic training in the discipline ordained by her guru for over 20 years. She is trained in Abhinaya under Guru G.Venu at Natanakairali Abhinaya Kalari's Navarasa Sadhana.

Apart from Mohiniyattam, she has received fastidious training in differentclassical dance forms under eminent gurus; Bharathanatyam from Dr. Neena Prasad, Kuchupudi from Shri Mosalikanti Jai Kishore, and Kathakali from Shri Kalamandalam Krishna Prasad.

She also has to her credit, an MA in Bharathanatyam from the University of Madras, M. Phil from Kerala Kalamandalam, and UGC-NET. She has bagged several prestigious awards, and her achievements are remarkable and many. As the director and main instructor of ANTARA CREATIONS Trivandrum, she imparts to young aspirants, systematic training in both Bharathanatyam and Mohiniyattam, rooted firmly in the traditional style.

Apart from the traditional repertoire in Mohiniyattam, she has conceived choreographies like ‘Chithrangada’, ' Oru Thai Nadaam’, ‘She-The cause' etc that address socially sensitive subjects on gender issues, ecological coexistence, woman empowerment etc
