Vikrum Aiyer

Vikrum Aiyer is a political appointee for speech writing and a Special Advisor in the Obama Administration.

A former communications advisor to Congressman Ed Markey (D-MA) and DC Mayor Adrian Fenty, Aiyer has worked on message strategies for campaigns, trade associations, federal agencies and political parties in other countries. Most recently he has advised the State Department, the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, the U.S. Patent & Trademark office, the 2012 Democratic National Convention, and the President's National Export Initiative working group.

In addition to contributing to the Huffington Post, his work has also been featured in the BBC and Politico. Vikrum also sits on the board and steering committees for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington, DC, the global non-profit, Refugees International, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. He attended the University of California, Berkeley and did his graduate work at the George Washington University’s School of Political Management.
