Vinay Payyapilly

Born in Mumbai, grew up in Sharjah and then roamed all over South India as an adult. I am from nowhere and everywhere.

Trained as a software programmer, I knew I didnt want to do programming for a living, I went into teaching until I was offered a job to write courseware. It was my aha moment, the moment when I realized that I could pursue my passion to write in the field I was trained in and make a living out of it.

So for the next 13 years, I wrote. I wrote and I wrote and I wrote. Technical manuals, user manuals, training manuals, you name it, I wrote it.

Finally, I threw it all up and decided to go freelance. The result was my book of short stories - Nicotine and Caffeine and Wordsmyths.

Along the way, I found time to marry my sweetheart of 7 years and have two wonderful kids with her.
