Vineet Chopra

I am a physician and hospitalist-investigator in the Department of Medicine at the University of Michigan Health System. As a health-services trained researcher, my research interest focuses on improving the safety of hospitalized patients and prevention of hospital-acquired complications.

I am particularly interested in prevention of complications related to vascular devices, including central venous catheters and peripherally inserted central catheters. My research uses techniques that span risk-prediction modeling, meta-analysis and survival analysis to inform physician and nursing practice.

My work has been published in a number of leading journals including JAMA, BMJ, Lancet and Annals of Internal Medicine.
