Director, ‘Prabha’, Feature Doc, Post-Production

Vinita Negi is a graduate of the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India, La Femis Paris Université d'été and IDFAcademy. She is a recipient of various documentary fellowships like the Let’s Doc Fellowship 2020 (by Documentary Resource Initiative), Bichitra Collective Fellowship 2023 and AXS Film Fund Fellowship, 2024. 'Prabha’ is her first feature-length documentary. As a filmmaker and producer, she has been selected to present her work at leading Asian and European Co-Production markets including Docedge Kolkata, DMZ Docs South Korea, Dok Leipzig Co-Pro Market, EIDF South Korea, Edinburgh Pitch (Scottish Documentary Institute) and MSRDOC 2023 (organized by CNEX) winning DMZ Docs Award, EIDF Young Talent Award, SBA Grand Award, Edinburgh Pitch Audience Award, DMZ Docs Audience Award and Doc Edge New Zealand Award.

In 2026, ‘Prabha’ was awarded Dok Leipzig, Germany award at the academy qualifying Doc Edge New Zealand forum.

‘Prabha’ is currently in post-production.

‘Cat Dog’, the narrative short she edited, won the Premier Prix at Cannes Cinefondation 2020 and the Orona- NEST award at San Sebastian Film Festival, 2020.

She has a first-class BA(Hons) in Economics from India's top college Miranda House, University of Delhi, and worked for Google India before turning to films.
