My Story…

I’m a spirited entrepreneur, “Mom” of two “children” (the four legged furry kind), wife of my amazing husband, Cully, born and raised in the beautiful state of Colorado, and lover of all things thrifty and refinished!

For as long as I can remember I saw potential and beauty in everything…from a run down house to a broken, torn up 1960’s Shasta camper…I have a passion for taking the old and discarded to bold and beautiful! There are few words to describe the joy and fulfillment I feel each time I finish another piece of furniture or décor.

For years I’ve refinished décor and furniture. Most of our house is made up of custom built or refinished furniture. It was a hobby more or less…a hobby that I love! I once shared my dream of owning a furniture refinishing shop to a co-worker of mine to which she responded, “I think you should…go for your dream. Life is too short”. Although I’ve heard words like hers before, it was different that time. At that moment, I knew I had to take action to pursue my dream. Within a week of our conversation, I had all my ducks in a row and was in process of opening my Etsy shop and was promoting our furniture refinishing business locally.

A huge believer in education, I not only refinish furniture but I create blogs, tutorials, etc… to give tips and tricks on how to refinish, up-cycle, build wood décor and furniture to other do it yourselfers like me!

Can’t stand the feel of grass on bare feet (especially damp grass!). I’m told this has bothered me since I was a baby…I guess you don’t grow out of some things!

Love meeting and talking with people…and although I may appear to be an extrovert, I am actually a big ‘ol introvert at heart

Have overcome several life long fears and obstacles simply by moving forward with my dream of opening my own business…well I say “simply” but, of course, it didn’t always feel so simple!

Believe in karma and doing things that feel good and are honest

And lastly, if this isn’t already obvious, I am a HUGE fan of anything and everything DIY. Projects my husband and I have completed include: bathroom renovations, basement renovation, fireplace renovation, shed demo and re-build (all credit goes to my husband on this one :o)), furniture refinishing, furniture building and up-cycling…and the list goes on and on.
